Something that can be said of every generation as they go through their lives is ‘no one had to deal with this bullshit before’. And every time, they’re most likely right.
We live in a time where algorithms, dopamine hits, micro-trends and analytics are almost inevitable aspects of daily life. They’ve changed how we interact with people we care about and people we’ve never met before. You can now have commercial, social, creative and political networks entirely facilitated through the internet.
As someone who places elements of their life in the messy public domain of social media, I often wonder why on earth I add extra noise into a place best described as ‘a virtual hall that’s already full of people shouting’.
